Koru

Inspired by a recent visit to the islands of New Zealand. We were exposed to the exciting and wonderful wood carving and jade working of the Maori people. Invigorated and inspired Reuben designed this Koru symbol which circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’.  The unfurling frond itself is symbolic for new life, new beginnings, hope, perfection, rebirth, a new start, awakening, personal growth, purity, nurturing, a new phase (in life), the spirit of rejuvenation, and peace.  In order to pay tribute to the Jade work we chose a green dyed Koto veneer inlayed inside of a dark Etimoe to bring these one of a kind hats to life.

Every one of brims are made from sustainable bamboo and are hand stiched to the caps to ensure lasting quality!
